SJTA Member FAQs

Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked member questions about the Atlanta Jewelry Show.  From admission requirements for your buyers to show promotional opportunities, you'll find all the answers right here.

Q: What are the admission qualifications for buyers? 
JBT listees and AGS stores may qualify immediately. All others must present the following: Copy of store lease or photo of inside or outside of store; multiple purchase invoices totaling a minimum of $15,000; sales tax certificate; company business license; company check. Online businesses must show hard copy of website information; multiple purchase invoices totaling a minimum of $30,000 from the last year; copy of sales tax certificate; business card or business ID. Admission is not granted for guests, individuals operating businesses from home; all individuals under the age of 12, including infants. New businesses are required to call the SJTA offices in advance of the show to determine admissibility.

Q: Does the Atlanta Jewelry Show offer any special hosted buyer programs?
Yes! The Welcome Atlanta Hosted VIP Buyer Program gives you, our members, the chance to identify your best customers/VIP buyers to receive a special invitation to the show. These buyers are eligible to receive up to 2 nights at one of the host hotels, entry into the VIP Buyer Club Elite Lounge for complimentary breakfast, lunch and breaks, plus many more special extras.  These customers must be JBT listed and well-rated; a current customer of your company; and will have never attended or not attended the Atlanta Jewelry Show in the past 3 years.

New for 2015, the program expands to include “Rep Rewards” to thank and reward industry reps who also refer qualified buyers for the Welcome Atlanta program. For every referral that meets the qualification criteria, the rep will receive $25 and be entered into a $2500 cash prize drawing. The more referrals they provide, the more chances to win! Q: What type of marketing does the Atlanta Jewelry Show employ to attract jewelers?
SJTA launches a full-scale marketing campaign for each edition of the Atlanta Jewelry Show.  A series of direct mail pieces, including the 60+ page preview guide complete  with exhibitor product images and ads, begins months before the show.  Advertising is featured in leading industry trades like Southern Jewelry News, InStore and JCK, including  a special 32+ page section of the show preview. Buyer relations, telemarketing outreach, social media efforts and a complete broadcast email program are also part of the campaign.

Q: Are there pre-show and on-site promotional opportunities for exhibiting companies?
Yes. There are a number of pre-show exposure opportunities for your company such as cost-effective advertising packages that include ads and product shots in the show preview guide, inclusion in show eblasts, web banners, access to the previous show attendee mailing list and more. There are also a wide range of on-site traffic- building sponsorship opportunities as well. Visit the 2015 Marketing Kit in the exhibitor section of the show website for complete details.

Q: What is the SJTA Buyer Rewards program and how does it encourage buyers to place orders at the show? 
All attending buyers are automatically enrolled in the SJTA Buyer Rewards program so they can earn points for every order placed with every exhibitor at the show.  They simply bring copies of their orders or receipts to the SJTA Rewards counter during the show (or submit after) and corresponding points are entered into their personal rewards account.  After the show, they can visit the online catalog to redeem points for gift cards, tech gadgets, movie tickets, home goods, travel packages and more.

When buyers earn 15,000 SJTA Reward points or more at a single show, they are enrolled in Club Elite, the exclusive club of Atlanta VIP buyers. Members enjoy many privileges, including entry into the members only Club Elite Lounge for free meals during the show, a special show VIP badge and exclusive, and no-wait registration.

Q: What types of programs and events are featured at the Atlanta Jewelry Show?
You and your customers can choose from a wide range of networking, social and educational opportunities during the Atlanta Jewelry Show, including:

  • Complimentary Breakfast Each Morning – Buyers and exhibitors are invited to enjoy coffee and bagels on the registration concourse.
  • Café Conversations | $5 Buyer Lunch – Buyers are encouraged to stay on the show floor to enjoy the show’s sponsored lunch buffet for only $5.  As an added bonus, they also have the chance to join in the show’s daily Café Conversations. These informal conversations give retailers the rare chance to share successes, common challenges and new ideas with each other.
  • AJS U – Jewelers can choose from a full roster of educational  and motivational sessions that are all part of the popular AJS University schedule on Saturday and Sunday of the show.
  • Mingle! – The show’s “after-hours hot spot.” Held each evening  in the lobby of the Renaissance Waverly hotel, Mingle gives attendees and exhibitors the chance to socialize together outside of the show floor, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere that is highly conducive to creating new business opportunities.

Q: How does the Atlanta Jewelry Show communicate show updates, news and promotions with members? 
Starting in October 2014, The Atlanta Jewelry Show will launch a monthly newsletter for members providing reminders, news and important show updates.  Please make sure we have the correct email address for this and other important member correspondence.   In addition, SJTA will continue to email members copies of all buyer email messages as well.

Q: How can my company gain exposure through the Atlanta Jewelry Show Social Media channels?
Use the show hash tag, #AtlJewelryShow, when you post your show news, new products, specials and more on your own Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media pages. Be sure to follow all of the Atlanta Jewelry Show’s social media pages as well, so we can keep up with your posts and share them.  Look for handy tips and updates on ways to participate in the show’s social media efforts in upcoming exhibitor newsletters.
