Early Skills to Inspire Future Jewelers

FutureFusion (previously called "Kids Camp") is a two-day, hands-on learning experience that introduces young makers to the real work of the jewelry bench. Designed for ages seven to eleven and twelve to seventeen, the program teaches meaningful skills through safe, age-appropriate projects led by respected instructors. Students learn how tools are used, how materials behave, and how creativity becomes craft. Older participants also explore the basics of how jewelry businesses work. FutureFusion offers a rare chance for kids and teens to discover the craft that sits at the heart of the jewelry industry and to build early confidence in their own ability to make something real.

Two Age Level Programs

FutureFusion offers two concentrated days of meaningful, skill-driven learning for young makers ages seven and up. Students work through a structured curriculum designed to introduce real jewelry making concepts through age-appropriate instruction. Children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews of attendees are welcome, and participants may register for either one day or both days of the program.

Explorers (Ages 7-11)

Guided, age-appropriate instruction in real jewelry making techniques, taught by experienced educators who introduce students to the tools, materials, and design thinking.

Makers (Ages 12-17)

Instruction in more advanced techniques as students produce finished pieces, along with an introduction to jewelry business. Makers apply what they learn by developing and presenting a simple brand concept of their own.

Designed and Led by a Leader in Jewelry Education

FutureFusion (previously called "Kids Camp") was created by jewelry educator Mindy Spritz, an Atlanta-based art administrator, curator, and writer, and current president-elect of SNAG (the Society of North American Goldsmiths).

Mindy has led major arts organizations, served as Executive Consultant for the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia, and co-directs the Atlanta Contemporary Jewelry Show. She holds advanced degrees in studio art and is a doctoral candidate in organizational leadership and administration.

With a deep background teaching and directing bench-related programs across the US, she and her instructor team bring serious, skill-based bench and business curriculum designed for ages 7-17. With their guidance, young makers get an authentic introduction to the skills at the heart of the jewelry industry, alongside professional-level standards.

Family tradition has always shaped the jewelry industry. Many stores, studios, and trade shops are built across generations, and young people often form their earliest impressions of the field long before they consider careers. If we want the next generation to see jewelry as a real opportunity, we need to bring them into the excitement of the industry while they are still discovering what they enjoy and what they may aspire to.

One of the most compelling introductions we can offer is the making itself. Jewelry is created through a mix of creativity, physical skill, and the controlled use of tools and fire. It is purposeful, hands on work that turns raw materials into something meaningful. When children and teens experience that process directly, they gain a clearer understanding of the industry and a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship at its core.
