A few years ago, GIA and the American Gem Society began collaboration on a fancy-shape cut grading system. We formalized that partnership at the end of 2022, combining the two research teams as one. This united team extended the research into fancy-shaped diamond cuts and designs. This session will explore the steps GIA is taking toward this avenue of research. We will explore our evolving understanding of the link between light performance and taste. Finally, the implementation of new cut-related products and how GIA can support the manufacturing process.

Larry will cover how to use the EDGE “Inventory Performance by Category” report to design a perfect store layout and merchandise needs. This session will have sample showcases setup where teams of attendees will set up cases to accommodate their best idea of a perfect case.
